Community Legal Education Assistance Forum

The Community Legal Education Assistance Forum was established in June 2011 after extensive consultation with stakeholders across the community legal sector.

The forum's purpose is to promote cooperation and collaboration between legal service providers who are delivering and initiating community legal education activities.

The network also seeks to promote and share models of "good practice" in community legal education work.

Children and Families Legal Assistance Forum

The CAFLAF is a specialist forum established as a sub-committee of QLAF. The aim of the forum is to encourage cooperation and collaboration between legal assistance service providers working with families and children and to promote good practice across legal assistance services in the delivery of legal and related services to families and children.

Best Practice and Evidence Base Working Group (BPEBWG)

The Best Practice and Evidence Base Working Group (BPEBWG) was formed in 2016 from the Best Practice Legal Assistance Forum (BPLAF) to consider and build on empirical research, evidence and analysis of legal need in Queensland to inform service planning and best practice approaches for legal assistance services. 

The purpose of the working group is to promote cooperation and collaboration between legal and non-legal service providers to improve the quality and effectiveness of services and client outcomes through improved practice, efficient systems and professional, well-trained staff.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Service Planning Working Group (ATSISPWG)

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Working Group (ATSISPWG) was established in 2016 to consider service planning and best practice in service design to maximise the reach of legal assistance services available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Queensland.

The purpose of the working group is to promote cooperation and collaboration between legal assistance service providers and non-legal services, including social, community and health services working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Mental Health Service Planning Working Group (MHSPWG)

The Mental Health Service Planning Working Group (MHSPWG) was established in October 2016 to consider service planning and best practice in service delivery to maximise the reach of legal assistance services available to people with mental health issues, intellectual disability or cognitive impairment in Queensland.

The purpose of the working group is to promote cooperation and collaboration between legal and non-legal service providers, including social, community and health services working with people with mental health issues, intellectual disability, or cognitive impairment.
